Puerto Vallarta is undoubtedly one of the best places of great tourist attraction in the country that combines the traditional part of colonial Mexico with a trend of modernity reflected in its tourist complexes that you see more and more that absorbs the original town where the city gains its entity. With the recognition of national and international tourism increasingly in an organic way, it would not take long to become one of the most visited and sought after by tourists in general during this holiday season, and Spring Breakers in 2021 will not be an exception.
Puerto Vallarta: Its climate and its connectivity.
Being originally from the city of Durango, Mex, I was more used to the cold of the mountains, so when I visited Puerto Vallarta for the first time I was amazed by the winter climate of the city.
Being a city located between the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range and the Mexican Pacific, Puerto Vallarta combines the climate of its tropical forests bathed by rivers and waterfalls, with warm temperatures and cool beach breezes. During the summer months, you can expect temperatures that range between 25 ° C and 32 ° C, while in winter you will enjoy minimum temperatures of 17 ° C and maximums of 27 ° C.
Believe me that it is easier for me to travel to many parts of the world from Puerto Vallarta than traveling to the interior of Mexico. I can get to Juneau, Alaska faster than to my hometown!
The geographic location of Puerto Vallarta makes it a destination easily accessible from anywhere in Mexico and the world, thanks to its road, air, and maritime connectivity. The International Airport of Puerto Vallarta, Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, is the third airport in the country with the largest number of flights and connections to and from major cities.
From the United States: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines all mentioned the most regular.
From Canada: Air Canada, WestJet
National Flights: Aeromexico, Viva Aerobus, Volaris, Interjet.
Spring Break Season 2021
Puerto Vallarta is the most popular destination for many young people in North America because it is so accessible, convenient, and popular. It is a destination that offers a wide variety of hotels and numerous options to enjoy the beach and nightlife. The Spring Brake season begins from February 20 to April 10, 2021, normally in Vallarta, the largest influx is notorious, mainly in March.
Puerto Vallarta is expecting Spring Breakers this Season
After I have researched I have found a study by Expedia which found that there are very clear travel intentions of Americans for the period of ‘spring break’, since there is a rebound in the searches of North Americans for places to vacation, particularly for the beginning of spring. Data shows that American travelers are looking for warm climates and beaches, and Puerto Vallarta is among the destinations on their bucket list for a trip in March or April.
The natural attractions of Puerto Vallarta, such as its tropical climate, the combination of jungle and sea, and the atmosphere of a typical Mexican town are elements that frequent travelers to the destination do not forget, or that many more want to know. The report specifically mentions the Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa hotels and the Hotel Mousai Puerto Vallarta as the favorite VIP establishments of the respondents.
Likewise, the Expedia Annual Vacation Deprivation Study shows that travelers are truly motivated to pack up and get out of the house this year, and if it’s during the first half of the year, the better.
Americans have begun to concretely plan a weekend getaway to enjoy a tropical destination, reunite with family or friends, or simply kick back, relax and recharge, which many would like to do next spring.
Spring Break & Covid-19
The United States embassy recommends not traveling to Mexican tourist destinations in general during Spring Break due to the pandemic.
My opinion is in support of this measure since the lack of awareness is notorious due to the existence of a null health protocol among groups of young people who, despite the recommendations, ignore regardless of consequences. Currently, Puerto Vallarta is at moderate risk or yellow phase (national indicator), so hotels can operate at 60% capacity.
The United States Embassy in Mexico also warned that consular services for citizens of their country are limited in many places by the covid-19 pandemic and the return trip to the United States for those who decide to travel will be with certain limitations and restrictions. Those returning to the United States by plane must present the result of a covid-19 detection test, antigen or PCR, carried out no more than three days before the departure of their flight. In addition to this, passengers must submit an affidavit that they do not carry the corona virus.
Currently, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport has a laboratory for Detection Tests for Covid-19 (PSR and Antigen) since last January 19th
in response to the previous restrictions mentioned by the United States and also applied by the Canadian government. The cost of the antigen test is MXN$450 Pesos ( US$22 Dollars) and MXN$1,450 Pesos (US$72 Dollars) the PCR test. The PCR Test takes 24 – 48hrs for delivery and the antigen test takes 30 minutes.
Conclusion
Puerto Vallarta is ready to receive travelers, whether Spring Breakers or national visitors, the hotel sector, restaurants, and other providers of different services that are offered, maintain the different bio safety protocols required by federal and state health authorities, with constant restrictions on crowd capacity and frequent sanitation.
My recommendation is to maintain an active prevention measure and avoid traveling in this pandemic season that we have not yet controlled. But if you are going to travel, follow all the instructions to the letter and take these restrictions personally by carrying their antibacterial gel and careful handling of your face mask and above all, SPEAK loudly with your companions or family members when you observe if they do not comply since it is everyone’s responsibility to take care of us.
